How do I remove old tint?

Postby LarsBud » Fri Sep 18, 2009 12:48 pm

My wife’s rear window tint has turned all unclear, everything looks messed up when looking through.
What’s the best way to remove old window tint, but remember I don’t want to damage the defroster.

There is a better way to get the adhesive off without ammonia and steel wool. Ugh I would never use steel wool on the back window that just doesnt make sense, it's asking for problems lol. Use the 4 in 1 Lysol spray and the adhesive literally wipes off with a paper towel. Sometimes if you have a mess of adhesive let the lysol soak on the window inside but put a garbage bag over the lysol you just sprayed on the window preferably a black garbage back to get it hot, then you should have no problem cleaning it off. The Lactic Acid in the lysol spray gets the job done. That's what I use anyway.
