Re: Cylinder head rebuild
I'm sorry eramirez I ment did you open up any of the oil retruns and smooth any of the casting on the head.
Very good that you cleaned all the grime off that you could and sent to shop Three *** for that ("I also had the head resurfaced for $40.00") .
I was wondering how nice the casting of the heads are if you grinded any ALUM off or opened up anything a little.

I thought about opening up ports but I am not very familiar with these things so I just cleaned everything and put it back together.

Would my link work for others?
Re: Cylinder head rebuild
I don't know if your link would work for others but it's no hassle sending it out to everyone individually.

Re: Cylinder head rebuild
I have 2 things to say here.
1. Thats pretty freakin nice of you to share the digital manuals with other members here. As the Aveos are aging, these manuals will definetly become a benefit to some of us who are more inclined to do our own work. This said...
2. The situation you put yourself into really could have been avoided with common sense. If anything could be learned here for any future home auto mechanics it is this, DO NOT start your car with unfinished repairs. I mean you were right there, just 4 maybe 5 bolts? and a serpentine belt away from being done. 15 minutes worth of work would have saved you 4-8 hours or more of work later. Let this be a lesson to everybody else.

I looked inquisitively at my beer and wondered, why aren't you in my belly?

Re: Cylinder head rebuild
Is the manual for all version of the aveos? or is it only for new ones?
