Well it doesnt pull as much as the 1st day i got it out, the headgasket is blown and there is a good amount of lost compression, the car sounds like a subaru lol

But you can hear a bit of wheel spin when i punch it in 1st gear, 1st gear easily spins the tires, before i had the turbo i wouldnt even come close. There was also a good amount of wheel spin in 2nd gear before the gasket blew.

When i get the new motor and its tuned and everything runs well, ill make a nice video you will see ;)

Received my new engine this morning and im quite pleased :D

Snapped a few pics of it:

One nice thing i noticed is the oil drain from the cams to the pan, here is what it looks like on the 1st gen 2.0 motor:

And here is what its like on the new gen engine, much better looking and cleaner, specially since thats right in the front of the engine bay!

New motor looks good! That pipe you are referring to is not the oil drain, but rather a pipe that connects the crankcase to the space above the cams so that the blowby gases can flow upwards and out the other holes on the valvecover.

Looking into your 2nd engine bay picture.... it looks like you've implemented the boostgate setup? 8-)

Also it looks like you are using an external slave to operate the clutch??? What transmission is that ?

Would be interested to see some pics of the adapter built to fit to the turbo..

Make sure you do a compression test on that motor. I know where you got it form looking at it. Your going to tear it down right check it right.

Ohh yes boostgate for the win!! Love the sound it produces and the boost is very stable!

The transmission is a D20, i swapped the entire clutch mechanism from the 1.6 and D16 into the D20, a simple 100% bolt on swap.

The motor is a 2007 model with 31000 kms on it, its practically brand new. I took off the exhaust manifold tonight to make it easier to weld the t3 flange on it and the flywheel i need to use mine (the engine was originally from an automatic car) I dont think there will be any problems with this motor, its very clean and if theres ever a problem its under warranty.

I had no idea that the D16 came with an external slave setup, that would have really helped me back when I was using the D20 and went through 3 internal slave cylinders! (each time had to take out the trans to replace the stupid internal slave)

Also why did you have to weld a new adapter for the turbo, why not just swap the old manifold with the adapter already welded onto the new motor?
