what did they fix or did not fix to begin with?
they said it was showing up as an emission problem. They did an emision test and in the end replaced the gas cap which they said was cracked. if that was the problem why would the light go on after only another 200km
you should refund that unit and get the other one,
So i emailed the dealership last week and told them if the light goes on one more time they are getting it back. It must have done something as the next day I call. They are giving me a car rental until they figure out what the problem is.
an emissions problem is not an answer, you should definitely ask them about the specific code, each time.
that way if it is in fact the "same" problem you will know. It could also be the dealers in ability to fix it and not the car.
the thing about cheap(all actually) cars is some defective parts get through the manufacturing process, that is why there are warranties.
what is canadas lemon law like?
petrifiedrabit I wish i would have read your post sooner.
3 times now it's been back to the dealership in a month. I've talked to the General Manager and he agrees that if it happens again he will exchange the car for another.
I was told that this is the third Aveo in Canada that is having this problem...the dealership has been in touch with Chev who is apparently guiding them through.
They are now giving me $500 worth of gas cards because of the whole ordeal.
I believe the lemon law is 90 days here.

This thread needs more details.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.
any news? did you exchange for another unit ?
shove that gas card up their ass,
just give me another car .
There is no Lemon law in Canada. It is 100% the dealers call.
