Hi all back in my home town. I was born in Ottawa, Alta Vista to be exact, and then to Parkwood Hills in then Nepean. I was in the army for 31 years, spending the last years of my career in Ottawa, living at Uplands on the base. I retired in 2008 and moved here to Izmir, Turkey with my turkish wife. Had two stock Aveo's when back in Ottawa, a 2004 LT, was wrote off in an accident, the other guys fault in 2006, a little over 2 years after getting it. Great service by my insurance company, they contacted me to see if I wanted the same model of car from the same dealer, I said yes. The dealer didn't have an LT so they had to give me a 2006 LTZ, no cost to me, a sweet deal. Even the dealer couldn't believe it. Great cars with snows in the winter, never had a problem with them. Moved here and last year bought a 2010, new, Aveo SE automatic, with the price of gasoline here near 2.60 CAD a litre, it was hard on the gas. Just got a new 2012 Aveo 1.3 litre 75 hp diesel LT with start/stop last week. Couldn't be happier, great mileage so far, and euro diesel is cheaper then unleaded over here. The start/stop works exactly as advertised. Anyways, just saying hi to everyone with an Aveo back in Ottawa, the best hometown around! Cheers from Izmir.

Hello All - I thought I would keep this thread going. I am currently living in Gatineau. I have a 2005 Suzuki Swift+ that I am trying to keep going for a few more years (I really don't want to have 2 car payments at the same time). Hopefully, with the great resources here on aveoforum, I can do that... As long as I don't fubar my engine when I try my timing belt this summer. I have changed my own wipers and floor mats before, so I think I am ready for a timing belt.

The floor mats can be tricky
