      Re: 2010 Progress

Oh thanks man! I went with something different. Carbon fiber leather with the shadow and the silver flowed with what I was trying to achieve with the interior. I still debating if I want to remove the italian suede from the headliner and have it rewrapped in the carbon fiber shadow. So many things to do and I still have to finish the bathroom in my house lol. Im going hunting for a money tree anyone care to join me lmao

WOW!! Nice work man... you sure did put a low of time into it... Did you do all the painting yourself? I know that paint takes time and precision...

I did all every bit of prep work much like yourself. But Elmar (one of my best friends) is a bit more handy with the HVLP gun than I am with laying this type of three stage paint so I let him have a have at it. I sprayed all the primer and base though. I love to use the HVLP gun, I use to do it for a living at Massbody Works in Haverhill MA. Elmars shop. He has made that shop one of the best bodyshops in New England.

Very nice paint job. And great work on putting everything together. Did you get the car with everything ripped apart in one of the shots above or did you rip it all apart to customize it? And what's going on with the bare metal? :O Did it rust that bad already?

I bought the car brand new in the pic above when it was all silver. I tore the car apart so I could prep it correctly. Also the pic that you mentioned where it was shaved down to the bare metal is the rear door where I shaved the rear door handle and had to weld it and then grind the welds down.

Hey thanks man! I used a House of Kolor Gunmetal metallic for the base, then used the House of Kolor Chameleon Prizmatic for the midcoat and then sprayed 3 coats of clear between 2000 grit wetsands. Just a paint in the ass because if anything happens to any part of the car I.E. the front bumper or whatnot I have to spray the entire car so the paint can flop correctly. What did I get myself into lol

With that attitude they need to go to Seattle downtown with all the hills. It will be fun watching them rub their side skirts off...
