As always I am super impressed by your work. I have no idea how you put lexon (sp) on the taillights and have them look pro. So brilliant!

Very nice! You on Facebook at all? I'm sure our group would love to see all your pictures and/or more details about the whole thing if you'd like to share! I'm in love with your build so far and would love to duplicate this body style if I had the means.

Thanks Xintersecty, the tail lights came out pretty good. everything on the car could be better if i had more time to spend.

Swerv2010- I don't do Facebook. You can post, and link to here if you want.. Honestly I'm putting in 12 hour days between teaching and finishing the car. And now just like what started me with buying an aveo, I just taking 3 grad classes at Slippery Rock University. Which adds to my insanity. So I barely have time to post here (I try to follow a few sections, but can't look everywhere).

Glass installed.. getting closer and closer..

Bummer, but I'll be sure to show off your hard work to our members. Absolutely love what you've done and wish I had the ability to do this or at least pay someone to, very little that I would change on this to get my dream Aveo haha

Rabbit and his students, they are professional and artists. I remember seeing the work done by your students and seeing their handy work on your car. Bravo for teaching them well. I took your inspiration and did my own front ground effect spoiler like you did. However my execution "lacks" your professionalism and artistry. Mostly I am just learning this skill and I am working without guidance.

Here is my own front bumper

I had issues with my front ground effect being too low and having beat all to hell by various roads. Hence I lost a lot of paint and cracked my original glue line. If was not for the rivets, it would have been a lot worse. (Thanks Rabbit)

Also I should have used a block sander (I have one now) to better blend the transitions between the compound curves.

I also wonder if my plastic primer just did not stick right. So when I get my rear passenger door/frame fixed I just might more inspiration from the rabbit and add those wheel wells.

if that bumper is your first attempt at bodywork, it is not bad. The hardest part with auto body is patience. Taking the extra step to make it right every time. Professional body men learn to do it right the first time, it takes a long time.

I took the car home today, got it inspected, and lets just say 17x10" wheels in front, with my height. RUB.
Now that I am FINALLY driving the car, I can address the few kinks in the extensive mods.

We need a video. I am sure the video department would love to do 60 seconds on it.

Picture it like this, going straight is fine. It rubs when I turn, brake, and the road leans. Its all in the front wheel wells. I was going to cut them out and move everything BEFORE, but the mechanics teacher insisted I had enough room, over and over. And that is about where the project stopped for the school year. Until I decided to do the end of the year crunch. So I just need to go back and do that.

I need someone with a stock 09+ hatchback car to measure from a part that I still have to the ground.. I need to figure out my ride height.

Places I can think of: fender chrome grill, bottom of headlight, mirror?, door handles, the black filler piece on the rear bumper.

If anyone is willing to do that, I need you to be precise on where you are measuring, be on the edges, corners, etc so that I can measure from the same place.

Noticed no back of the car finished pictures. It kind of boat tails... I would make it wider at the bumper if I was to redo it:
The tail lights are not as black as they are in the picture. But red and orange clash, So I needed to take some of the red away.
They look more like the earlier pictures in person..
