      Aveo Snow Champion????

Is anybody else having as much fun in the winter with their Aveo in the snow an ice? I have a set of Toyo Observes on my 2009 Aveo and am getting around in any condition! When I first got my car I was so frustrated with the handling in the winter. I can't believe the difference after putting a good set of tires on! Here is my car pictured in about 2 feet of fresh snow.........yeah, I didnt make it out of the parking lot that day. Anybody else have any recommendations for good snow tires? These are studdless, I'm wondering how studs compare?

i had studded last year, threw them all on the highway when there wasnt any snow. The firestone wintermark? on my van led me to get them for my aveo this year, not bad but the general articmax? see to be better for highway speeds..

? are because i am not 100% sure of names/spellings.

I have driven my aveo through worse weather than most of the suv drivers around me could handle.

I've been happy with every snow tire I've ever used. I have used studs in the past but generally a good studless tire beats a studded tire. Tires have come a long way in the last 30 years. This winter I have Continental Extreme contacts, last year I had Firestone Winterforces. The Continental's are considerably better on ice, the Firestones may have been slightly better in deeper snow.

I now also carry Thule chains...just in case. I'm not willing to let the weather run my life.
Sorry GM, the Turbo Sonic was priced too close to the Focus ST. I gots me a Ford.

I had studded Winterforces on my Wave and nothing could follow me on bad snow and ice days.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

My wife's Aveo is the vehicle of choice for icy or less deep snow - on winter tires it handles very comfortably and consistently.

More than 4-6" of snow, and we take my Jeep on 35"s.

When I drove in the snow for my first couple and only times, I think it is easier than driving in the rain honestly. Though I never dealt with a TON of ice.

On the very few occasions this year that we've actually had any snow so far here in Southern NY my Aveo, and my wifes Aveo5 have done remarkabley well. I havent needed to break out the big guns (Suburban) for any reason, nor have I tried the new Cruze with its supposed Stabilitrak and Traction Control. Why get them dirty anyway?

Missing our beloved 1st gen Aveos everyday!
Silence is golden. Duct tape is silver!!
04 Aveo (mine gone but never forgotten)
07 Aveo 5 (wifes car gone but never forgotten)
02 Suburban (Eats gas stations as snacks)
      12 Cruze Eco 6MT
      (46mpg daily? Holy crap!)
12 Sonic 2LT (Wifeys new wheels)

Chevoo-1/2 Chevy, 1/2 Daewoo. I mean like WTF?
