I pried the gold bow tie off of the front bumper, no problem. The silver backing stayed in place, which in my humble opinion is a nice touch with the black bowtie outlined in silver. It goes good with the dual grills. I tried the same with the rear, but the gold bowtie broke in several pieces as I was gently trying to get it off the hatch. So I just painted the backing black.
Next step is the headlights. I can't decide if I want to add an Audi type led strip on the inside of each headlight and paint them all black, or just paint them all black. I also want to do something with those hideous fake port vents or whatever they're called in the fenders. I can't stand those. I opened the driver door and pulled on the side of the fender vent thing, but it's attached with tons of adhesive or something. I don't want to damage them if I do take them out because I don't just want a fender with an indentation in it with nothing there.

the fender vent is a vent. it has a big hole behind it. it clips in.

I'll have to look at mine again. I didn't think it was a true vent because I saw black plastic in between the fake chrome. So there is no air getting in or out. Regardless, it looks tacky as all hell. It's so trendy, like everyone and their brother started putting fake port hole vent crap on their cars, so Chevy decided to throw their hat in and profit off of it and I'm forced to suffer. You see those stick on vents at almost every department store now...walmart, target etc.

the black part is sealed, but also contains a bunch of tabs around the outside that holds the vent in.. the chrome is screwed to the black part.

looks good roro, say i just left illinois, haha right now im in arakansas. lil rock. ill be headin down south 2 tx 2morrow. :) o btw 20s can fit with those spring spacers. i saw some 19s brand new near my town for $200!! i would get them but i already have some 20s ready 2 go on the aveo. i also have some 15, and 16s <- need paint. ill post up my ideas when i get home!` welcome!!!
