How do you figure? It's based off an older VW wheel style...hence the staggered fitment?

He said that because All the civic boys are running them too they are actually work wheel replicas which is jdm on older rwd datsuns, toyotas etc. In the 70-80s era when they were copying bbs wheels off BMW 2002 and nsu tt's before them. Vw's just brought the look back first most recently.
petrified.rabbit explained my point before I got here... They borrowed the idea from each other, but at the moment they're very popular in japanese domestic market (JDM) vehicles... and since it's done in Japan - they have to do it too...
