      hidden factory gem

i was really surprised to find out the gm would hide this. its above the the digital odometer readin on the cluster. its covered up by black plastic from the factory gauge face. has a little picture of a car and points to the side the gas tank is on and tells you how much fuel is left until empty. i just took the clear cover off the cluster took a razorblade and very carefully cut off around 3/4 of the plastic and the length of the odo reading and reassemble.

There has been quite a few topics on this. You can solder a switch in and make it so it changes

How do you get the cluster out? I couldn't get the front trim to unhook.

two screws on it the clips on mine were really tight i had to do a little prying on them to get them to pop loose the back peice that is domed is the same way. then theres 4 screws that hold the cluster in place. once you gett it out youll have to unhook the plug ins and then the clear lense has a bunch of tabs you have to release to get it off
