Today was put the rear together, to test fit the flare, and mark for rough cuts..
Just stopping here would make sense, it looks good now..

Started cutting away metal for those back arches today. Didn't have any pictures without students in them, I will take more tomorrow.
Don't scroll down if you don't have a strong stomach..
that pesky door is still in the way...
there we go.. now the tire will fit.
Now just to clear the inner fender away, weld in all the new metal, and fit the flare.

What is happening? This is some serious work right here!
It's probably going on with this project. I put them on, and could have continued to run them, but the calipers didn't fit under my last set of 15mm offset wheels, and I didn't have room to fit even a 5mm spacer in the fender well. Also, I didn't upgrade the fronts yet. So I was just dragging the stopped rear wheel. BUT, I have a stack of the rear disk adapters sitting in my garage.
If I don't put them on now, I will do it when I put in my engine swap down the road.

Just a little more cutting today.. getting into the structure, so its a lot of "precise" and cutting things off in smaller sections for the students so nothing gets unnecessarily "hacked" to pieces.
inside the door..
removed outer dogleg (so far)
And wheel house:
if not for that last triangle, I could fit the tire in there.... finally.

Wow! Double wow! Just read this thread for the first time. Rabbit, are you going to change the gear ratio seeing that those tires are waaaaaay bigger??
The ratios will change with the engine swap.. I can deal with it until then. The 09 aveo, from my understanding, has the closest ratio transmission for my engine so I can deal with it for a while.
