Haha, ok. 8)
It fits nicely in there. Just get the 45mm emblem from korean seller.. it even has the two posts in the back identical to the ones of a bowtie back there. Perfect fit. 8)Quote:

I just taped up and primed my badges!! I decided to black out the GM squares on the side too. I'll post pictures. :)
Here are the pictures of my progress. We are waiting for the primer to dry.
Used A LOT of newspaper.......paranoid.....lol
painted black now!!!.... can't wait for the final product :)
lol how many newpapers did you use? :P
Kalos is all done!!!! (for now....I'm so addicted and want to do more modifications!!!)
hunter: I said I was paranoid..... what you can't see is that there is also painters plastic underneath it as well.
Looks very cool, nice job!
Oh, and would you believe that is the first time I've ever used spray paint! :)
My boyfriend made me do all the spraying so that if something went wrong, he wouldn't be blamed. lol
It looks really good, I like it. Good job with the spraying! And I don't think you'r paranoid, overspray gets everywhere
Looks great, I took my GM squares off though...I like it better that way.
Princess, what's with the tennis ball on the windwhield? :D
It's nice when it's blacked out... You decided to go with matte black instead of gloss? Gloss (or clear) would match the finish of your car quite nicely, but flat black is nice too. 8)
looks great and nicely done indeed :D
tennis ball is to know when to stop when your pulling into the garage :)
that got me too the first i saw that at my girlfriend's parents house.
There's nothing better then doing the work yourself. You feel so good after it's done =D> =D>
The tennis ball is there because my mom usually parks in the garage and her bonneville is huge. So in order to squeeze in perfectly we hung the ball. If Kalos were in it there would be no need because she could fit at any angle. Lol.
I went with the flat Black because I think it matches the accent colors on the car (grill, mirror molding, etc)
I am soo happy I did it. I really do feel a sense of accomplishment!
How often do u guys think it'll need to be touched up, if at all?
Next I'm planning on painting/maybe powdercoating, the wiper arms to match the car. Summit has a Candy Teal that is actually pretty close to the Tahiti green. I'm going to paint the inside of the headlights Tahiti green too. Wolfman (I think) said I could get color matched spray paint from NAPA, anyone know of they can do caliper paint too?

For your wiper blade arms you can use gegular automotive paint since powder coat has to be done in a ship. I’ve repainted my older cars using (flat black) Trimclad Rust paint and it worked great.
For your calipers you need a heat resistant paint that can be directly applied to metal. I’d us engine or caliper paint that you can pick-up at your local speed shop or car parts store.
Wolfman: I will probably end up removing the GM squares too....I thought it would look cool to have them black like everything else for a little accent, but then realized how poorly they are put on. I couldve pulled them off with my finger. I will see how I like it. I'm going to paint the AVEO5 lettering and trying to find the KALOS decal from a daewoo to replace the LT. (ofcoarse it'll be painted black too)
LarsBud: I did use primer, so that would be great for it to keep (at least for a while) :) Are engine paint and caliper paint created equally?
Some of the caliper paints are more like a glaze, you near to mix them together before applying. I have just used heat resistant paint on my drums and calipers on all my cars. I have never had any issues in all my year.
The easy way to paint you calipers is simply spray the paint into the cap until you have a good amount of liquid and simply apply with a small paint brush. This way you can paint right on the car without any overspray.
Here's some info you can look at:
http://www.brakepaint.com/
I've read on here about making sure to only paint certain surfaces on the calipers....By painting them on the car, will this problem be avoided?
The powder coating shop that my boyfriend has done business with before estimated $65-85 per caliper depending on how much taping off would be needed, so I'm trying to keep that my last resort.
My father has painted his before, so at least I wont be completely lost if i do it on my own.
thats alot, they have paint at the auto store for less than $10, really is not too difficult to do, my yellow on mine has not worn off/no brake dust in almost a year, not hard to just go out there and repaint them anyways even if problems arise
The problem with that Hunter, is that my color is not readily available in high heat paint. Thats the only issue I'm having that may convince me to do powder coating. My dad suggested to do black (then it'd blend into the wheels that I will have) or silver (i just dont like that idea....lol). Gotta wait until I buy rims though to do anything. So I got time :)
You might be able to get away with spraying your brakes the Tahiti Green and then going over it with a High-Temp clear. I see VW guys do it all the time.Quote:

if wolf wants to be JDM then let him be, no need to imply it :P
JDM?
JDM=Japanese Domestic Market. Honda/Toyota/Nissan (that are made in Japan) owners like to put "genuine" Japanese parts on their cars to make them "look cooler/drive faster" by having "genuine" car parts installed.
Even though if you have a true JDM car, you will be driving it sitting in the right side front seat. :D 8)
JDM parts add HP and make you faster, you can also gain Vtec from what I read if you add enough of these hot parts to your import YO!
check out fit freak to see what I am talking about :?

yes. the short antenna is stock. everything on Kalos is stock at the moment.
I went 2 weeks ago to get a decal for the back window and the business i chose were not willing to work with me at all and my design (which is VERY simple) so I walked out. They were really rude too. Completely ignored me too. UGH! annoyed now just thinking about it again. lol
I checked out the DIY headlight painting......dont know if I could stick my lights in the oven. lol. My boyfriends brother has done it, but I just dont think Id be able to.... not yet at least. I have this awful vision of it lighting of fire or melting down....and having no headlights.. lol
If you do it right there's no risk of melting. I forgot, did I show you the how-to I wrote up with pics? I can't remember...oh well, here it is again just in case I didn't...it's very easy:

Diggin' the write-up. Definitely looks better with the blacked-out lights, Ima get some black ones when I order replacements.
I wouldn't say gladly. Halos look good on many cars.Quote:

Holden definitely sounds better than Chevrolet, but personally I'm a big fan of Opel.http://ceoworld.biz/ceo/wp-content/u...09/07/opel.jpgQuote:
