      My 83 Mercedes 300D

Ok, all just wanted to post pics of the 83 Mercedes 300D that I bought awhile ago. I drive it sometimes just to bomb around in. Its a 5 cylinder turbo diesel with 282,636 miles on it.

You'd actually be suprised at how inexpensive these cars are to repair and how very simple in design they are. Its the newer Mercedes that are super expensive maintenance wise and need to go to the dealer.

the older cars sure are fun to work on, everything is dumbed down a bit, IMO. at the same time im always suprised by the ingenious of the older technology lol
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

      The 240D is a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder, the 300D is a 3.0 liter 5 cylinder. 240D's are non turbo and the 300's are.

5 cyllinders aren't uncommon just phased out, early 2000+ Chevy colorado's and GMC canyon's had 5 cyllinders for a while and even some 2000+ newer jettas and golfs had 2.5L I5's.

      I think it's gorgeous.

Lots of Volvos have 5 cylinders also... the S40 comes to mind. The Chevrolet Colorado/ GMC Canyon and Hummer H3 have them too.

The car looks great for that age and mileage. I've been looking for a similar Benz or late 80's BMW to work on as a project.
