looks good, but damn, those tailights are tinted dark :P
 thats the point but you can still see light shine through it pretty good
thats good, lol the stupid law says that you have to be able to see the brake lights like 75 feet away or something like that, and plus i wouldnt want anyone running into me :P
lol i dont either. i tested all the lights made sure i can see them good
you use leds in the gauges?
lol im at 39342 right now, ill be passing you in 2 weeks lol
lol i bet you will i got my car 3-4 years ago... still under 50000 miles
shoot, if i get my job back over at disney, ill be looking at 60k by june of 2010
the car has been back and forth from PA like 5 times, so 10k of the miles are just from that alone :P
State law in alaska states brake lights have to be visible at 500ft.
75 feet is pretty close. And at any speed you gonna be looking at a semi bumper coming really fast through the back end of your car if you stop hard. I think that looks cool on some cars but I like breathing more than my car looking cool.....LOL
wtf, that sucksQuote:

Not really, you wouldnt understand unless you were here. The ice fog is terrible and we are a trucking state...lots of semis. You can still smoke your taillights and see them at 500 ft. away, you just have to be smart about it and do it correctly. LED's dont hurt either.
i had mine that dark and went to get it inspected and they failed me for it... so now im thinking of pin striping 3 lines across my light and tinting the rest...
what part of the light were you failed for? it might have been for no reflector.
they said it wasnt bright enough... i think they were BSing me personally but my mother was the one who brought it down there to get it inspected... i was in Arkansas workingQuote:

This is the best pic of my engine i got. Just some detailing and added the CAI.
Nice and clean reddemonx92. =D>
Any future mods planned?
Yes I recently found a shop to help with my custom exhaust & header, and a body shop like right next door for the custom body kit seeing as there is none for my sedan. I'm in the saving process right now however.
And thanks for the comment! :D
Very cool. Do you know what type/size/lengths are for the header? Just interested to see what a custom shop is making for ya.
Just out of curiosity, how much are they charging you for the custom header? I already have the custom exhaust, just looking into getting a header either from xiaogary or a custom one if it's cheaper/better...Quote:

I will be getting rid of the cat and the resonator.
They body shop will be making a whole new bumper I believe. Both these shops are 5 minutes from my house.
Regarding your question. I believe I am only going to pay for the pipes to be bent and for holes to be drilled in the manifold part. My dad is going to help me weld everything together. He welds all type of metals. 10 years welder so I trust his work. I believe we are going for a 4-2-1 header. The aveo has a lot of room in the engine.Quote:

Not really sure what the difference is but the point is to get all the pipes down into one pipe. Shouldn't be too hard for your dad either to be able to weld the pipes. I might be headin down to a junk yard to see if I can find another aveo that has the manifold still so i can get the plate that has all the holes for when i get the new plate.
Buy a gasket and use it as a template.
You'll need it anyway to bolt in the new header.
I was thinking that too. there was something on ebay that someone was selling the whole gasket set.
Lucky you if you guys have aveos in your junk yards... our don't have them, people just part them out by themselves... gotta go through craigslist, but then the prices are very fluctuating... :(Quote:

Diameters, lengths and collector design are all pretty important. I'd be happy to help out. I have a some reference info that will help out. I've designed two headers for other cars I have had. I started making one but never finished it, and the other I never started. Heres a pic of one of them.

very nice design seems like that would work pretty well in an aveo
You would have to move down the flex pipe though... and possibly the resonator (if you left one in)Quote:

It sure is... I already did the rest of my exhaust though... So I'd have to just move the short resonator that I left in there and the shortened flex pipe (had to bump resonator up in size to 2.25 to match the rest of the piping and replace the flex pipe). So I would try to connect it to what I already have. I think xiaogary's cat delete version would work well with my set up though, because mine is stock from the cat up, so I could just replace that part of it....Quote:

Blue does not match it sucks.
Nice CAI, i will have the same one in a few days :P
i hate how all of the couplers are blue though
Yea and i was wondering if an Admin would rename this Demon's build or something like that? Just so its easier to find my thread incase i need to add new pics later on
they need to rename it "Demon's JDM Aveo Build w/vtech YO"
i cant find any nice couplers on ebay, i guess thats why people buy the aem intake
LOL, you could've called them when you ordered it and asked them to change them to black (or whatever other colors they might have)... They did that for me free of charge. 8) I think it looks better like that. Plus one of the couplers should be replaced by AEM 3" air bypass valve, very good idea if it rains wherever you're at. 8)Quote:

Yea i will be gettin that bypass. needa save up money first though
I got that the same week I got the CAI. Here in WA it rains a lot. I didn't want to spend the 50$, but after evaluating the price of the other possible option (hydrolocking) 50 bucks didn't seem like that much compared to an engine rebuild/swap all of a sudden. :P 8)Quote:
