new headunit and subs for me to

i went fairly cheap on this setup im pretty happy with the results. the headunit is a jvc kd-r640. aux port flash driver pandora radio ready. multi color display. the subs are mtx terminator 12s in sealed box. the amp that cam with them was a mono block 250 mtx but just wasnt quite running the subs good enough so i put in a kicker mono block 350 and now i got all the bass i need in my car lol

Awesome ride ....... How did you go getting the wiring in for the power / negative ground in through the firewall ?

also with regards to the head unit to factory speakers ( assuming you still are using your factory front and rear speakers ) wii g, how did you go there ?

i still have my factory double din unit and am torn between buying a single din unit like yours and going that way to run my rear factory speakers and run the front splits ( awesome aftermarket pioneer ones ) and the rockford punch amp and my subwoofer off the head unit via its RCA pre-outs

Any tips from you please would be greatly appreciated

bought the correct wiring harness for the car offline it all wires into there. all the speakers wire in the harness. I didn't even have to mess with my speakers they are all ran into the factory harness which plugs in the harness adapter you have to buy that wires into the new headunit if that makes any sense at all lol

Go big or go HOME! LOL

That isn't bad, I have a Tantric Md in a very large box in my 2004 Hatch. Not easy and need to redo the box, cause I can't get my seat to get all the way back but this is just a temp set up. I'll try and get some video and Pictures once it quits being Seattle here in Ohio. Rain sucks for doing stuff with electronics. Also, I flex not only the obvious things.....but I can bounce my wipers off the windshield.

Awesome! I remember one of my last incarnations of my aveo, it ran 6 t1 12's from fosgate in a wall behind the front seats. Two sets of T1 components, 6.5 in custom made door panels, and 5.25 cut into the dash. All four tweeters along the front winshield. 2 600.4 cpbd's hidden behind the rear windows, rear doors welded shut. 3 1500 bdcp amplifiers behind the back hatch. Easiest place to run wire through the firewall was behind the fuse box below the brake booster. Drilled a hole with a unibit, put in a grommet and ran 0 gauge to the back. Power bastards makes a 220 amp alternator that is factory in size and mount, and fits like factory. In fact, I still have the components installed, but have instead turned the back into a custom bed, with 2 of the rockford fosgate pbr amplifiers, both the 300.1 and the 75.4 hidden with a downfiring 10 in a hidden ported box. Be aware though, if you plan on making over 120 db, you can very easily separate the roof from its support toward the front of the windshield. I did that, and cracked the windshield twice before I quit competing. I would also recommend some type of sound deadening as the car sounds like a rattle trap at high spl. BTW, I separated the roof after the sound deadening, and the welding over of the pressure release vents on both sides of the hatch. If interested check out the old pics from my car domain page: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/135610...hevrolet-aveo/
