Tell us about the hitch? I have a small utility trailer which weighs in at 220 pounds, perfect for picking up apliances, christmas trees, engines, etc, but all the hitches only seem to be for the sedan.
Actually I thought I read that max wieght you should haul with the aveo is up around 900lbs. 1000lbs max. There was somebody on here hauling a U-Haul trailer with his orange aveo hatch, but I cant remember who.

The hitch that I have for my Aveo is rated for 2000lbs with a max tongue weight of 200lbs. I hauled a U-Hual with it and it seemed fine, a little hard to get up to highway speeds though. The trailer alone weighed 850lbs so with our stuff it was well over 1000lbs. I wouldn't recommend doing that a lot but once or twice isn't gonna kill it.
The trailer weight is 450lbs, so with the trike it's around 800lbs. I've also pulled a mower that was around 600lbs. So far it pulled great, I can run it at 60-70 mph with no problems with the wind or the trailer pulling me around.
I have a 5 spd so it pulls the trailer fine, I have to down shift to 4th on most up hill grades to keep it around 60 mph. I think that the auto would have a tough time with it, would definitely need a tranny cooler and you'd have to run at a slower speed to not scorch the fluid.
Here's a link to the draw-tite for the hitch specs http://www.draw-tite.com/fitguides/d...ID=24741&dlr=0. The pic below is of the actual hitch.

Installation was a breeze, it only took me 20 minutes once I found all the screws that hold the bumper cover on. I only took the screws that hold the cover to the car, not the ones that are attached to the bumper it's self, I just pulled it out to give enough clearance to get to where I needed to drill. You'll have to add a piece of wire to the one they give you for pulling the bolts though the bumper, it was short by 6 inches.
I spliced the wiring kit on the driver side under the rear speaker and had to run one wire to the passenger side for the turn signal.
All in all, 2 hours to do the whole job. Finding which wire did what was the longest part.
Oh ya, the hitch was $15 shipped on ebay and I had to buy the bolt kit from a local shop for $10.

Wow not bad, does the ebay seller have more (link please) or was it a one off sale.
