      Old Timer, New Toys! :D

Well I think it's been well over a year since I posted something worthwile on here...

Old timers of the forums will probably recognize me but for the new guys, long story short I had a 2004
hatchback with a swapped Optra (Suzuki Forenza in the USA) 2.0L engine/transmission that I turbocharged.

With a crappy tune at 8 psi with winter tires, the car ran a best time of 14.9 @ i don't remember the mph.

Anyway, due to an oil return line failure screwing everything up the car last ran almost 2 years ago.

Last year I had a bike to satisfy my need for speed, a 2006 Suzuki SV650, but with my 20 month old son now it was kinda hard to find the time to ride, so I sold it.

I recently aquired a new toy however, I've had it now for just over a month and I'm soon putting a decent amount of money into it.

2010 Mazdaspeed 3, with the tech package fully loaded, best car I've ever owned up to date.. freakin LOVE it!

I already have started to mod it. For now I have Corksport Shifter Bushings with LED foglights and DRL's, 18" Enkei EKM3 wheels on 225 rubber. Waiting on my tax return to get the following:

      - Cobb Accessport
      - Turbosmart Dual Port 50/50 BPV
      - SURE Aeros SRI Intake
      - SURE Sidewinder TIP (Turbo Inlet Pipe)
      - SURE Charge Tubes (The 2 couplers feeding boost thru the top mount intercooler)
      - SURE Shortcut (Short throw shifter plate)
      - SURE Countershift (The weight attached to the shifter plate)
      - Denso Iridium 1 step colder plugs
      - JBR Rear Motor Mount 88 Durometer
      - JBR Oil Catch Can
      - Rally Armor Mud Flaps

I agree. I liked the styling of the 1st gen a little more. But the interior of the 2nd gen is much better and it has more luxury features than the 1st gen.

Hey Nemasys! I guess I'm an oldtimer too lol

Nice pickup on the MS3... just be careful with the MAFs on those - they are very sensitive / picky. I've heard enough stories of people putting on aftermarket intakes and it throws off the MAF readings leading to unstable fuel/timing and engine going BOOM.

I know locally of 3 people that blew their motors but these were also the earlier 2008-2009 etc models.

Also speaking of MS3's I just have to add that i destroyed one last night in my Lexus Roll from about 70 and gave him the headstart LOL. He had some mods - not sure what - but I could hear exhaust and louder turbo sound (either intake or upped the boost or both), and he had a ton of gauges haha.

Anywho... are you on the Mazda forums too?

Yeah man I hear ya, that's why I'm getting an Accessport at the same time as everything else. It's basically a programmer (if you don't know already) that you plug into the diagnostics/obd port and it reprograms your factory ECU with custom maps depending on what you installed. At 600 bux it's not cheap but it's the only way to be safe. That awesome gadget is also very popular with the Subaru guys as well. It also adds things like launch control and flat foot shifting, things that are not available without it.

I'm not surprised you would kill a MS3 with that monster of yours lol, even a slightly modded speed 3 has about 1/2 the whp you do haha! A full bolt-ons stage 2 can only handle around 300 whp with the stock crappy k04 turbo.

Im planning on a GT30/35 upgrade with forged internals in the future, maybe 2-3 years down the road. That should put me easily into the 400 whp range, maybe then we could race lol

I'm on Mazda247 (tho it's mainly for information purposes) and a local mazda club from Ottawa (www.ottawamazda.ca)

I do actually, I'm not quite sure what to do with it tho, I should really take it appart, sell what I can off the turbo kit/sound system and wheels and possibly anything else someone would be interested in.

The problem is the lazyness, that car gave me so many headaches I really dont feel like playing around with it lol...
