Yep. And I actually think the fender vents may be functional. I had white salt dried on my car coming out them. I haven't checked in the fender to see if they are yet, its too cold!
I attempted to plastidip them when I first got the car...didn't work...but holes are half-ass painted over...when I tried to do it yesterday...and it didn't workout..I cleaned up and went about my business...then I thought what if they were functional....so I looked under hood. They sit nearly all the way outside the engine cavity..that and they're blocked by body panel. I don't believe they're real or functional...because what would they be breathing...if I'm wrong, I'd surely like someone to tell me...because I've had the, Plastidipped shut for a few years..
Hey pickles, do you have any tips or tricks to how you dipped the front and back fender to match the side trim? I am considering doing that and somehow removing chrome in grille and doing center bar where emblem is as well..I think it could look super sharp..and would take car of a scratch/paint mess up in the front and back...
I'm not pickles, but will try to answer some of those. Do at least 5 light coats. Remove masking tape while the dip is still wet. Go to YouTube and search for Dipyourcar.com videos before you try anything bigger than your Emblems. Make sure the surface is clean. If it's cold out, put the cans of dip into a bucket of warm water for a few minutes. And take your time.
Also, the more coats, the easier it is to peel down the road.

I was referring to pickles picture, because he did front and back too...also I meant mostly for lining them up..making the, flush from side to front/back bumper.. With regards to the vents, I swear they're just for who. Take a look in your engine compartment and tell me what you think. They sit too far in the back, in fact...the majority 7/8ths of the vent isn't even in the engine compartment....that and, on the other side of the vents, there is nothing but body panel.
They're just for looks

beneficial, I used a sharpie and tape measure. My car is black so the sharpie was barely noticeable, but noticeable enough, a dry erase marker would probably work well also and be removeable. I used almost a whole roll of painters tape lol+ everything serega said. Kevin, I think you are right, I don't have my inner fenders in (from when I was lowered) and I don't notice much salt on the drivers side, bu lots on the passenger side
I wash my car a lot...I've noticed the dip gets dirty quick..which is a pain and I wash and wax more because of tires kicking up salt and crap. I need mudflaps..I have stuff to make my own but I absolutely cannot figure how to mark out holes. I used a crayon and paper to shade over inner fendwheel well and tried that way..but it just does not work..anyone know of any samples or diagrams that can be cut to size for mudflaps?
