RAVEO the 2008 Aveo

RAVEO (pronounced ray-vay-oh) is my 2008 Aveo5! I've just started my work on it. I'm not sure the complete direction I will take...

Fist winter. Customized grill (new tires too!)

Found a friend! This was an "original" Aveo with pretty much the same options as mine. Alloy wheels, spoiler, sunroof...

When I need new struts (or if I get a windfall) I'll look into coilovers... I'd also like to put some LEDs in and would like projectors but don't know about sinking that kinda money into this... :P

Changed the bulbs in my speedo to red LEDs. Bought all the lights off eBay. T10 bulbs for the 5 big ones, T5 bulbs for the one little one. Ordered extra cuz they were from China so some may be DOA. Inspected the pics on eBay to make sure they used the same actual LEDs so they would have the same color between the T10s and the T5.




Putco white LED dome light. I spent too much money on this one. Probably should have just gotten one off eBay... All the auto parts stores said it was a 1.25" base but it's really a 1.5" base so I had to bend the mounts inside the dome!

Sylvania Silverstar ZXEs Halogens on sale. Put out brightest, whitest light for a halogen. Much better visibility at night and much less eye strain.

Red LEDs in 3rd break light. Turned out better than expected!

Nice gauge lights. Are you going to to do the rest on the dash?

If you're talking about turn signal/high beam etc idk they might need to be white LEDs or something since their color is from the "display" not the bulb. If you're talking about the center console, I have enough bulbs for it, but I'm not sure yet how it would look red...
Edit: I haven't been on here for a while and you go crazy with your car!

HaHa ya i have done quite a bit from a year ago but im alomost done jut the interior now. I love how clean yours is thow just red, I would not change much at all.

I'm starting to put some stickers on the back. Right now I just got a K&N sticker and an Android vinyl, but I've got a Fender logo & guitar vinyl on the way.

I just made a rookie mistake. :P I tore my 3rd break light apart since I happened to have 5 red LEDs left over (I ordered 10), changed all the bulbs, hooked it up, unscrewed my break switch so the breaks will light up, and only ONE bulb was on!!! After messing with it and getting some bulbs to light I realized LED means Light Emitting Diode, and diodes only let electricity through in one direction. Since these were cheapos from China they weren't bi-directional bulbs so I turned them around and they worked.
I left the cover off so it will be easier to change the bulbs if one goes out, and it looks kinda cool. I'll take a pic tonight.
