Spelling sucks
Here's some more pics.
I used the mounting clips that were supplied with the speakers, but placed them behind the pressboard of the cover. This gives you a strong hold and keeps the speakers firmly in place.
^does it make a big big difference?? i bet it does
The sound quality and volume level is where I like it now. I will fix my front door speakers when I pull the trim off to rework. I need to place a ½ inch spacer between the door metal and the speaker. I can’t role the window all the way down because the speakers sit in to deep, oops.
Thank you for the pictures. That looks just like you described it. Pretty sweet. I'm thinking of doing the same only with an amplifier in between the two speakers. Once again, thanks for the inspiration!!

So I mounted on the Thrush:
Do to the length of the thrush muffler, I ended up running it out the back. It looks ok and has a nice soft sound, nothing that will piss off the neighbors. I’ll add the pics soon, but I will take it into a shop and have it properly mounted this fall. I had to do to much cut and fight to make it work and I just don't look very clean from underneath.
Cool man, if you wanted it to come out the side, then when you take it to a shop, have them do it properly and have it come out the side. Don't settle for something else because you ran into a snag. Can't wait to see the pics.
I'm just talking about an amp for the speakers. I don't want aftermarket subs in any car I ever own again. The last time I had subs put in, the shop did a poor job and I think i've outgrown the whole "I need so much bass all the cars around me feel it" lifestyle. I really don't listen to that kind of music any more either. It sucks gettng old I guess. I'm thinking some good 3 ways, replacement front speakers, and maybe some tweeters up front and i'll be more than happy.
