Im actually going to keep the stock height, because chicago streets are so full of potholes, I dnt wanna leave my all bent, so im cosidering to get instead of 205/50R15 imma get 205/55R15 just because im hoping to fill in the gap.
I wish you the best luck. What does the offset come to? the wheels and tires are going to stick out quit a bit enough to stick out of the fenders if you have any weight in the back it will rub thats why ihavent installed mine yet. If you go with bassett the highest offset is a -9. I have a -12 here is a pick for you i took them with 20 mm spacers on the rear to correct the stance i now have 1 in in the rear and 10mm front till i can get home and make custom fenders and flares
Thisisthe rearshot 2 in past the top of the fender close to 3 1/2 at the door
this is the front 2 in past the top
I love the look on your car, and its ride height. I understand about your roads, as here in Louisiana, the roads have been worked over by logging trucks. Your last quote was spot on for me. You're not low enough until you have to plan your route home. I can agree with that whole heartedly, as I do that everywhere I go.
thats about where my rims stuck out too.. and i just started rolling and pulling till they fit..
My new rear rims are 10" wide.. with a 15mm offset.
thats a -12 offset how did you get them ti fit what size tire are you running?
I'm gonna run a 225/35r17. I'm also going to lower some more. It will require a cut off wheel and serious 1/4 work or flares.. or something.
Wow, wide 17's on a static drop in an aveo. I tried that back in 04, before anything was out for this car, and had tons of rubbing issues. The worst is the hump on the inner fender, towards the front, that the inside of the tire rubs on. I know I plan on getting lower, but only after we get the car on a lift, remove the engine, and rework the inner fender metal.
not to get off topic, but one of our locals built his car using "extreme" methods to get the fit/ look he wanted..
mine wont need to be as extreme as his. but i'm not going to not consider cutting, moving and welding.
