haha yeah, I read that such a rear bar in a hatch like the aveo gets rid of the understeer, though I have never driven hard enough to really understand the feeling of the whole understeer/oversteer thing, it does feel a lot more solid though, I cant wait to take it out on the highway next weekend
I am waiting on the header, stuck at customs for almost 3 weeks lol, but Xaio is checking into it, such a great seller!
Nothing else to report though....just waiting on red to make that trip south :D
When are you going to install the pulley?
not too sure, might go to the local shop here during spring break to do the timing belt, sep belt, and the pulley and other maintance goodies. I cant do much with the header on the campus, so it will have to sit until then as well. I am going to get a set of rabbits coilovers soon and have those put on, prob at the same time as well lol. I also need 3 tires soon, but I was waiting because of the possible tuning in south florida, red is going down there and check it out, and there is a tire shop we know as well, so....let the wait begin lol!
2 months or so :D
On the highway, the car is so much more stable, it is amazing. One of the best mods I have done to the aveo yet.
If your tires get too bad and your still on the 14's you could probably pick up some cheap douglas tires to get you by, if the ones you have now don't make it. Or look around for cheap used ones.
They still have a little tread, was waiting on the possible trip to miami :D
Just putting some options out there for a cheap tire so you can make that trip worth it.
o yeah, I have 15" rims now, but ill get a super deal down south on a set of new ones, cheaper than used (by the time I balance them and put them on).
What kind of "deal"?
195/50R15 Falken ZE-502 - Discounttires.com has the lowest prices on tires and wheels, all name brands, and a huge inventory. In most cases, shipping is one to two days guaranteed.
this would be @ $220 shipped, then like $50-80 mounted and balanced, and you'll have 4 new fantastic tires.. for <$300.
except i know one of the heap guys on ebay is near miami..
that is a good deal lol
added a pic i took today
Nice. Where is it parked?
at the mall!
bought a scangauge 2 and rabbit's coilover kit, now i need the coilovers themselves and mounts, prob will wait till summer to buy those and do it then, no time now
^baller :)
You should look into getting some OEM fogs hunter lol. The front just looks so plain
those are on there way to you btw.
ok thanks rabbit
red, I wouldnt mind some foglights with HID's, that would be sweet
I have OEM fogs on mine im just looking into getting HIDs for em. I still havent got em for my headlights either.
Hunter, all I had to do was get a real job and you beat me in post count for life. Have you done your timing belt yet?
lol not even 2000 posts, what a joke! I am doing it this summer im guessing, who knows lol
Just for you. This is my post number 2000.
Woo 2000! :D
Well, hunter, you have ben on the forum for about a year longer than me, so you should be around 4000 by now... Quit slacking and get to it! :P
I'm the epitome of a slacker then.
2002 posts, what a joke!!!!
went to the shop today, found out they will not touch any aftermarket mods, but I am getting a nice set of BF goods installed along with the sep belt changed (im supllying belt) and the valve cover gasket for about $490
want to install my header and pulley before autox though, dont know where to go :D
just a small family run shop, they do good work so I really wanted to deal with them, they will do anything oem (no exhaust or trannys though) and for about as cheap as it comes, I will look and ask around the usf car group for any local shops that will get those mods done (i got your coilover kit btw, thank you!!!)
new valve cover gasket, installed the sep belt and two new BF Goods on the back for $300, not too bad at all.
Got the O2 extender in the mail as well, gaskets coming in friday, need the bolts still, and a place to install....
Oil pressure gauge going in as well hopefully
that is how banks get their way. there is no other solution guys.
made some changes of the front page
i have a life too, but how is your life treating you? what cha been up to?
Not too bad, man. Finished my school (that took up most of my time). Then right after graduation I was informed that I'm starting work next week in Portland, OR... Had to find a house to rent within a week and move everything over one state south...
Now working as a Union pipe fitter at an Intel plant. It's fun. But have to re-learn a whole new profession. Just because the Intel plant is making chips, it's a place full of very "fun" chemicals (HF, for example, only gets neutralized by the calcium in your bones)... And since I'm on a demo project (demolishing piping that connects the "tools" (machines producing chips) to the facility), I have to be careful not to cut a "live" line with something spilling all over and stopping the whole fab...
Other than that still trying to figure out new area, unpack, spend time with wife and kids, and from time to time drive back to Seattle to catch up with old friends and family.
As far as the car goes, installed 4300K into my Aveo's and HHR's headlights. Love the light output for the rainy Oregon (not that Seattle was much better). Trying to sell the Aveo to maybe get something else for another project.
And how has life been treating you, rabbit?
