that's nothing, my uncle had an aveo hatchback with a hitch on it. he pulled a 15 ft 4 wheeler trailer with a zero-turn lawn mower on it. i didn't believe it till i saw it but it did pretty well.
Interesting. Do either of you guys have pictures of how the hitch is mounted toe the car? This is how mine was done when I bought it. I can't say I'd be willing to tow much at all with things like this:

looks like the salt off the roads got to your suspension and the home made hitch... even the bumper cover bolts. I guess that's one positive thing about having no snow... other than that I would take snow over rain any day..
