That hitch looks like a tinker toy. For everyone elses sake, dont tow anything heavier than that bike.

Go to Etrailer.com they have a professional easy install hitch that mounts through the rear wall of the trunk as well as under the frame by the tow hook. Works great. Made specifically for Aveo at a very reasonable price. Takes about an hour for a novice to install. I tow a jet ski all summer.

Is your Aveo and automatic? What year? Do you use the Hold Button. How much does your jetski weigh? I am getting a Master Hitch class 1 hitch installed this weekend. $285 including lights.

I have the automatic. I dont need to use the hold button. It drives and stops just fine. Looks totally stupid but works great! There are a number of hitches I have seen. The etrailer is the best design as it bolts to the bottom frame and to the wall of the trunk. Double spread on the load. Go online and you can see the design. It took me less than an hour to install myself. I dont pull anything other than the jetski and trailer.

How far are you towing? In stop and go or highway mostly or both?

Mostly stop and go in traffic - 5 miles or less. Bottom line it works fine - Get the one that bolts to the trunk wall next to the lights not just the bottom floor.

Is yous a sedan or a Aveo5 hatchback? The etrailer guy told me the truck mount is for sedans. The hatchback models have no truck mount.
