i dont think you should remove the needles unless the new ones recalibrate to the right position themselves...i took my needles off to paint them and put them back on in what i thought was the right position but now they are slightly off

true, i used odb2 scanner to make sure i got um adjusted correctly. and they are easily adjusted if you leave the clear cover off for a bit to test um.Originally Posted by AVE0SAM
Yeah, I noticed today that the accuracy kinda sucks. As I was running down yesterday, the display blinks"---" when it reads under 30miles, but my gas light hadn't even come on yet. I still went further than 30miles btw. Then I filled the tank and it said 270miles and I was like "WTF? I get more than that." When I left this AM, the gauge continued to drop about 25miles in the span of about 4. However, I magically gained 60 on it on my 45mile trip into work. It seems to be very sensitive to your instant mpg, because it dropped again when I was stuck in traffic this afternoon. I'm hoping that as I pile miles on the car, it will average it out better. Either way, I'm happy because it's cool and I did it (with GM's help of course )

There was a time when people used to ask me at a stoplight "how much HP you pushing?".....with $4/gallon looming, they now ask "what kinda mileage you get?". I don't know if I should cry or laugh.
