Just get the right sized tire and it should really be about the same in size, you will need to go lower profile depending on the rim size though. I read your comment about the antenna, it was a bitch for me to get off its on super tight. So it does just twist off, its just next to impossible when it hasn't been done yet. I wanted to replace mine with a shorter one as well but the adapters were too long.

My aveos aftermarket 17" rims with low pros have same outside diameter as my stock 14" steel rims with normal tires. The only difference is about $100.00 more a tire when I need new ones.
