Ok. Time to get cracking. I just contacted JBodyPerformance out of Canada (excellent Cobalt and Cavalier parts), and inquired on them expanding to the Aveo market to help get it going in more of a direction. This was Mev's (the owner) reply:

Everything we can make is endless, camshafts, cylinder head kits, engine kits, rocker arms, stainless valves, headers, exhausts, turbo kits, sway bars, braces, coilover kits.. anything... we do it all... Right now, just limit it to the top 5 "simple" products... this stimulates market interest. Turbo kits and engine parts come after....

So, with turbo kits and engine parts coming later, what would you guys want done? It's nice that they already had planned to work the Aveo, so let's get it going. If I can get buyers now, we can have parts ready for track season.

1. coilover kit, kinda like what xiaogary has on his
2. swaybars
3. front and rear strut bars
4. rear disc conversion, big brake kit
5. frame brace

Coilovers, but i "may" have found some that will be adaptable but a 100% correct bolt in kit for the same price would be nice.

cat back exhaust

sway bars

i think everything else i can make myself cheaper than a purchased kit but i would not be opposed to big brakes, rear discs, light weight pulleys, performance clutch kits, lsd, braided steel flex brake lines..

Front Strut Bar
Rear Strut Bar
Frame Brace
Cat-Back
Midpipe or Trackpipe that eliminates the Cat.

I have not looked under my car. I am presuming that the Cat is a seperate replaceable unit.

Header is worthless because I want that Turbo Exhaust Manifold and downpipe.

The cat is actually part of the exhaust manifold.

i'm more of a handling freak as i'm not much of a racer, but sway bars and strut bars would be nice if offered.

I just forwarded all this information to Mev at JBP, and asked him to sign-up to answer any questions. He says that the Suspension and pulley stuff can definitely get going. Dan and I still have that Underdrive pulley, so maybe he can get something going with it.

ive wanted that pulley for a long time... :-(

I don't understand the big draw for coilovers, you loose all your droop and once you set it... it's set, it's not like people regularly adjust the height of the car.

Sway Bars!!!! (this is my biggest gripe of the car, handling is crap with all the body roll)
Strut Tower Bars / front lower brace. (super easy to make, HUGE performance increase)
Header that keeps the CAT and is therefore legal
Pulley
underbelly pan which reaches out to act as a front lip. This will help MPG's as well as handling.

i disagree, i know if i get coilovers i will have to raise them when in the winter since it snow around here. and i would like the ability to raise or lower depending on the season and if im gonna hit the track.

Dont forget it it normally makes the spring perch alot smaller so you can run wider rims/tires without them rubbing. Plus there is also the fact the spring rate was designed with the shock it is sitting on making for a much better ride.

thats nice, not that i will bother with raising and lowering the car for winter.. although the threads tend to get stuck wiht our wonderful road salt. but i want the car for autocross. not easy to do without adjustable dampening, and setting good ride height, (lower for less body roll, but still high enough for no rubbing, etc) and fine tuning it with corner balancing

but then you could undo the everything to make it comfortable to drive.

or coilovers also are designed to go lower than spring / shock combo. so you "could" get more drop but still be in a reasonable range for the shock. if you go too low on stock shock they might start to bottom out, and then you feel like a brick on a roller skate.
you will also tend to blow more stock shocks riding low.

That is the difference between quality KW coilovers and China made BC coilovers. My KW coilovers have been on my car for over 2 years and are still adjusting fine. If they ever don't, I have a lifetime warranty

what area are you in? i have had weitec, H&R, kw, spax, B&G, Vmaxx, koni, and carrera. they have all needed the threads deeply cleaned with a wire wheel (fully removed) in order to adjust them after one winter. and our winters haven't been so bad lately.

nebraska now. I have Flik FTD rims. Very wide open spoke pattern

coilovers are designed for race applications so with different tracks and different setups comes different ride hieght and stiffness but fot the most part your right people just buy them and leave them alone

probably not, just like every other "project" that is in the works but never really gets started on this forum

in order for something to be in the works, I need dedicated buyers, willing to atleast put a down payment on the production of a part. Just like when i tried doing stuff before, no one buys, no one builds...
