Yeah I wasn't going to bring that up...Originally Posted by mtlswift

Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition... You haven't got them completed, so they aren't to be exclusive... Mine are ready to go...

I was unsure if I should post this, but.... we have plastic intake manifolds. I ran phenolic spacers on my Subaru (http://www.uniquemotorsports.com/subach ... pacers.htm) for a few years and yes they definately keep the intake manifold cooler. Thing is, with a plastic intake, it's not going to heat up. That's one of the advantages to a plastic intake manifold. That said, how is this going to help keep the engine cool on an Aveo when there is no heat transfer anyway? Am I the only one with a plastic intake manifold?
saying there's NO heat transfer is a stretch. Obviously plastic/composite is less conducive to energy than metal.
Has anyone done multiple dyno pulls to actually see if there is or isn't a noticeable drop in power between the first and last pulls?
Another good way to test would be with the use a temp gun, I think. Check the manifold temp at warm idle (before driving, but after warm up). Drive for 20-30minutes, check again. Drive for another 20-30minutes, check again.

I said that (composite manifold). Just by touch, it stays pretty cool to the touch, both the manifold and TB (with the coolant lines bypassed) after a 1 hr city driving jaunt this weekend.Originally Posted by subachad
We did dyno pulls with our Probe we had, and on a stock engine (I/E/H) we got a 7hp increase. We threw on our ported manifold and got a 25hp increase total...

does a probe use a plastic manifold?
My custom metal intake is HOT to the touch because it was not coated..while i have touched plastic intakes that were at operating temp that were warm...but not HOT.

No probe is Cast Aluminum... thought he meant in general...
Does this mean I can post in your threads as long as no bashing is occurring?
