someone needs to chop up an aveo IM and measure the thermal conductivity wrt to phenolic.
I guess the point is that you can't directly correlate HP gains between a metal IM and a plastic IM... with metal IMs I've read about 4% gains after heatsoak... plastic + ~90 whp stock might net you 1-2 hp max.
From the research I have done which included running phenolic spacers on my Subaru, they don't actually add power, but they help keep you from losing it as your engine gets heat soaked. I can vouch for their effectiveness on an all aluminum engine as found in the subie, but I simply do not see how they could work on a car which already has a plastic intake manifold.
Swaybars would sure be nice though
oh yes we definetly need some swaybars big time, this car rolls too much
working on it... but since the only test subject I have is a complete engine on a stand, I don't have much to work with right now for suspension products...
