There are two places where you would get a squeak from.

      1. The swaybar bushings (just spray them with penetrating fluid and the sound will go away for a few days)
      2. The strut mounts. I would hope they used new parts when installing the struts but who knows.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

I was surprised to find both the upper and lower sections of the strut mounts in very good shape when I changed the struts on my '05 and my daughter's '06 last year. I had bought new mounts and did use them, but I believe the old ones could have been reused with no problem. These parts are very tough, hard rubber, and also are reinforced with an embedded steel belt.
Your mounts could of course be in much worse condition than mine were - a close-up pic or two would be helpful for others to see what shape they're actually in. But I think that unless the mounts are loose or badly worn, they wouldn't be the source of a squeak (screech maybe, if it was metal-on-metal).
