Whoa where did this come from? Everything looked to be fine a few posts ago... Why don't you wait until he has finished his product or does something wrong before making a judgementQuote:

They later said they slightly modified one of the mounts though.
To Swap in the Cobalt Motor?Quote:

that's what I thought... What is the engine code for the 2 Cobalt motors?
Got a call from my friend today. Prototype adapter has been completed in plexiglass, the ss adapter is going to be made tonight into tomorrow...
bro we need pics, and alot of them
like I said, until things come back from fabrication, I don't have any available...
Will have them available before I start thinking about selling them...
ah my bad, I should pay more attention :roll:Quote:

however, the 2.2 is changing in 2009 to a new 2.2 engine and that code i am not aware of.
There's a decent chance it'll be very very similiar to our motors. GM has been using more and more of them in there cars in the USQuote:

Turbo was modified today due to some fitment issues, but just consisted of rotating some of the assemblies (coolant lines, compressor housing, etc.) that will be easy to duplicate when the kit is installed.
Nothing really worth taking pics of yet, but going to pick up the piping and the prototype adapter plate tomorrow, then we should be in business...
My wife is gonna be thrilled.
We have been trying to cut down our mess.
haha nice...
Had to rebuild the motorset on the Project 240SX, so the Aveo kit went on the back burner for a bit... Should be starting back up on it this week...
stage 2 sounds pretty sweet use a larger turbo so that you can shift under 3 grand around town and not have it spool for killer mpg.
of course...
UPDATE?
none yet, just got the 240sx back up and running, so we are going to start back on this project...
I am assuming the turbo idea is dead?
Not enough interest... Either need to get some pre-orders so I can get the parts to finish, or the Engine is going to the scrapyard... Got everything ready just need to get the final design of the flange and the piping...

Is this topic still dead?
I haven't been on here much, but it looks lifeless at the moment. Still have everything needed, just some commitment before I continue...
takes a lot of time to develop a kit when you don't even know if people will buy it when you are done...
Found a SC Cobalt engine this week. Decided with two other toys I want; One purchased; the other built.
I am in for a turbo kit. Head back to work on Thursday and I will be putting my OT request to pay for this kit, along with the two other cars I want.
Late
Jason
This sucks - and my Aveo has been gone for years, but I'd contribute some money for a car rental, for fitament purposes. Maybe even a dyno...
I just want to see this kit live!
where are you located?
He is just north of Tulsa, OK near a town named CollinsvilleQuote:

I am very interested in buying the stage 2 kit , I have already posted what I would consider important in the appropriate thread .
I would be interested in seeing a pic of the system actualy set up on an engine , even if it's an 'on the bench'--or engine stand as the case may be .
I also think interest and commitment would be forthcoming from many people if they had an eyball on the product.
The software/ tuning side of the product is still of concern to me but I haven't read every post here so perhaps I have missed it.
As a bit of encouragement maybe--many cars are comming out or are out of thier warranty period now so theres no wimpy warranty reason not to mod the crap out of them and if GM winds up we'll all be out of warranty , me -- IDGAF I'll mod mine as soon as I can get the products I want .
the problem here is not warranty... it's money...
Did the kit ever get finished i know there's talk about money probs n interest but was the fitment and stuff completed?
Most likely not
No it's all still sitting here. Honestly we couldn't justify dumping money into R&D when there was no indication of anyone actually spending money on a finished kit.
just curious what it would take to finish it, and what the kit would consist of.
for a vw, honda, etc a finished bolt in kit with programming etc is about $2500-3000..
you can piece a kit together and still get programming for and be under $2000..
obviously choices could be made to take the price higher..
what price range would you consider this kit to fall into? will it have software etc?
