      The Black Pizza

Hi folks, I'm Ned, that's going to be my '07 Black Pizza. It's an LS with who knows what the package is called, but it has 'all' the options I can imagine them throwing at it. Power windows, keyless entry, cruise, AC and so forth. In my family that level of 'options' is called a 'pizza'... with everything on it... so hence the Black Pizza... or in this case perhaps a Hot Pocket might be a better name for it.

Getting it for a work car, I am a courier and need a dedicated car for my job. I'll be putting a ton of miles on it, but that's exactly what it is for. I'm sure I'll be doing lots of research on getting the most MPG etc, but i'm also interested in a bit of bling finding its way onto the car as well. I'll be in it for 4 to 8 hours a day, I might as well have some fun with it at the same time.
      -Ned

Welcome, Ned. Don't forget to change the timing belt roughly every 60 k miles and you'll be alright.

Hi Ned, welcome to the forum. I've never heard of anyone calling their car a pizza! You might say 'fully loaded' if you want to sound cool.
Hi Serega12 - does the timing belt change depend on age or only mileage?

I'm only asking because I'm in Thailand and Chevrolet suggest having a service every 6200miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. My Aveo has only done 22,000 miles and the next time I go for a service they want to give it the 60,000km service which includes a timing belt change. A timing belt change at 22,000miles on a three year old car is crazy, right?

Thanks all, my son is training to be a mechanic, I'll get him to tear in and do the timing belt change as needed. I'm sure he'll enjoy the challenge.

as for the 'pizza'... here in the U.S.A. you can order a 'pizza with everything'... this has 'all' the options, so...

Yes it does. But I'd replace it a little sooner than recommended because losing a motor sounds even crazier when the timing belt snaps and bends the valves. Gotta love interference engines.

a 2007 model car would have most like been built around mid 2006.. and its now 2013. that makes the car almost 6 years old, not 3.

Most recommendations on age are for cars in areas where rubber dries out, I do not know many people who change belts on the length of time interval versus mileage. but if you live were rubber drives out and cracks, I would probably consider doing it. IIRC most manufactures have an timeline recommendation for their timing belts as well.
