a 2007 model car would have most like been built around mid 2006.. and its now 2013. that makes the car almost 6 years old, not 3.

Most recommendations on age are for cars in areas where rubber dries out, I do not know many people who change belts on the length of time interval versus mileage. but if you live were rubber drives out and cracks, I would probably consider doing it. IIRC most manufactures have an timeline recommendation for their timing belts as well.
