Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
So you are already running 15" factory rums I see. Are you planning in going up in size?
-
Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
Yeah I haven't decided yet but I'm either going 16 or 17. I can't decide what will look better. Any thoughts?
-
Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
If you go up in size you will have to drop your car or it'll start looken funny. 17" are too big if you don't drop, that's what I think. You will also fined that the larger the Wheel the less you can throw your car around. Since I’m into the performance function first, I'm running with 14" ASA Racing Wheels for the better handling.

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
You can do like some of house on here and paint the inside of your headlights black. and 16's i believe are the best size for the aveo
-
Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
yeah one of myf riends had suggested that too. dont you have to like put your headlights in the oven or sumthing to take them apart?? and yeah im leaning towards 16 .
-
Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
Yea you gota bake the headlight in the oven. Im not sure the temperature i used when i did mine but you have to keep it in there for like 15min for the glue to soften enough to pull apart. Just make sure u pull off all the metal clips and the rubber
-
Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
What kinda paint do I get? And like what parts do I paint? And so I would have to buy glue to put them back together yeah? Sorry for so many questions I just don't really know how to do anything involving cars, but I'm tryna learn
-
Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
You just go to autozone and buy some high temp black enamel. When you seperate the headlight there will a be a chrome peice that is screwed into the headlight housing. Remove that and only paint that chrome part of the headlight. screw back in put both pieces back in the oven to soften glue then reput back together. thats really all you do. Theres already enough glue to make it hold together again

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
oh gosh ok. i think i might try that next week or something. . . . . we will see how it goes.
-
Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
Its really easy once you figure out how to do it. Just do one headlight at a time so you keep focused and you can learn what your doing

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
VEO is looking good. Likin the tails. Great job. I'm leaning twards da Ruff racing 395s or the Sportmax in 16s. I would suggest getting them powder coated. If you need someone to do it for you, I know a guy around the corner from me that does powder coating for bikes and cars. He's pretty cheap too. With your basic colors, I'm sure it wouldn't be expensive or hard. The only problem would be getting them here or back to you. just a suggestion tho.
Now for VEO, I would suggest, FIRST AND FOREMOST, TINT!!! She looks exposed. [-X [-o< Then getting the rims and dropping her like it's hawt. =P~

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
hahah yeah ive really been thinking about tinting the windows. and i was just in fl and saw so many places that did them for cheap. i wish i had my veo down south.
but yeah i mean im in chicago so texas. . . hmmm. sounds like lots of shipping and handling money haha. well ima look at some other places. how much does your friend powder coat for? roughly.. . like idont even know what would be a good price out here ya kno.

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
nice pics ~
my wifes running on 18'' rims 215/35/18. i got them for $350.00 with 80% tire. real good deal i couldnt pass up. i wanted her to run some 16s or 17, but shes into the bigger wheels. thats my fault. she doesnt want 2 drop it since rubbing would be a pain, smaller wheels fix that tho. but its her ride and its a Daily driver. she loves it!! o and i've done the oven mod with some tails for my honda, im glad i had extra tails. i cracke 1 so be careful pulling apart. you tube has really good videos on this mod.
i like ur wheel selection, all of those would look nice on ur white Veo~ keep us posted peace

Well, for our rims he quoted $400 for a special powder coat job. So, I'm sure your's would be a lil cheaper, especially considering shipment. Let me give him a call and see what he will do for me/you. I would need to know if you are going to powder coat the stockers or one of the sets you have pictured, so, I will wait for your response and call him tomorrow.

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
I'm planning on gettin a new set of rims powder coated. The sportmax xxr 008 16"
-
Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
i would have thought that a powercoat for those rims would be maybe $60 a piece at a local shop, shipping would be the killer in that case though

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
That's why I work for a shipping company. :D I get the hook up. I get to ship my cars, or wheels, or spare engines...I do that crap all the time.

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
Locally powder coating is $200 for single color. I did a tricoat type powder in an expensive chrome look and they only charged $275. I would imagine two tone would be about the same.
But powder vs paint is about the sam. The Real benefits are in application. I would check paint shops for prices too. Probably the better option.

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
Well, I just talked to my guy and without looking at the rims he is talking $100/rim. He also said depending on the intricacy or detail, it could possibly go up to $150, so, if you want to find someone else or his information let me know. He told me that he just did a job (white/pink) for this girl's motorcycle that's up on his Facebook, if you wanted to see them.

Re: finally pics of my VEO!!
Thanks I appreciate it. But I don't know if it would end up being worth it with shipping and all from Texas to cjocago
