Got an Aveo about a month ago

My car is auto so idk if I can do that. And I understand that some stuff is basic maintenance however, sudden overheating and head gasket failures must be common. My ca has 95k and I know it needs a few things done. I don’t have a lot of funds to do any of this stuff right now but I want to get them done ASAP. Recently just today my car started to act weird while driving home. If I run the ac it would start to sputter a bit. I noticed the temp gauge went down a bit. Then back to normal , right before half way. I stopped at a gas station to let the car rest. Oil was still oil and not a milkshake. Once I left the car ran ok. But I noticed that the heater was not blowing hot air at all. Warm at best.


I’m worried that this car won’t last me 3 years without it needed something major done to it.

I'd check your coolant. Sounds like it might be a little low. I've seen these motors last a while as long as you change oil regularly and don't dog on the car a lot.

Oh no I know what I’ve got in an engine. And I’m very meticulous and on point with maintenance. And I’ve checked the coolant and it’s at level. Hopefully it’s not a big deal. I’m looking for answers here in the forum. Hey and if you know of any cool upgrade that I can do let me know!

I browse the forums on here always looking for ideas. I'd like to add cruise control and the DIC upgrade for my dash eventually. Good luck with your aveo and hope you enjoy it!

If you're not getting enough cabin heat and/or the coolant temp is unusually low, could be the thermostat.
