Hey there Aveo community!
I have been browsing around these forums for some time now, and thought it would be silly not to register.
I purchased a used 2004 Chevrolet Aveo back in 2007 from a Chevrolet Dealership. They were using it as a loaner car of some sort, so it had decent kilometers on it when I bought it. Like 25k or something. Anyways. I was in the market for something smaller and fuel efficient and was looking at the Aveo, Fit, and Wave... but settled on the Aveo because I am a pretty big fan of Chevrolet. As I said, it is a 2004 5-door hatchback base model. Manual windows, doors, etc. I could care less about having to roll down a window or two to be honest. It's black with the grey interior. I love the car and it is very reliable and very good on gas. I have driven it across Canada twice now and it has had no major issues as of yet... knock on wood.
I havn't really done anything with the car yet. Aside from purchasing a new set of tires after popping one, the only other things I have done are replacing the front bumper (someone hit and run it in a parking lot), and doing oil changes and brake changes etc.
I'm happy to join the ranks of the Aveo Community Online though and look forward to sharing my cars future modifications/etc. Below is a list of my short term goals for the car.
New Rims (still rolling around on the stock ones)
Tint the windows
Cold Air Intake
New paint job (when I replaced the bumper, it came as the black plastic colour which is a little off from the paint job)
Black out the chevrolet bowties
That's it for now! I plan on doing the bowties this evening or tomorrow. I decided to go with removing them... taping off the chrome/silver parts, sanding down the gold, and painting them in a nice gloss black under a good clear coating. I will post pictures later!
