Hi to my Aveo cousins! My name is Will and I live in Chambersburg, PA. I bought a 2006 Chevy Aveo on January 2, 2014. I just stumbled across this forum while looking for videos and information on how to replace the Camshaft Positioning Sensor that has gone bad on my car! I have gotten quotes of $880.00 to replace the Timing Belt and sensor, but after watching a youtube video and finding this forum, I decided to join as seeks out others that have had the same problem!
I am NOT mechanically inclined...I know where the gas, key, and oil goes! I hope my 'cousins' can help me better than a video!
Welcome to the forum! The camshaft position sensor is a relatively easy replacement but the timing belt so much if you are not mechanically inclined. I wasn't and still am not no where near savvy in car repairs like many members here but was able to replace the timing belt on my own & successfully too! The key is to research as much as you can....with all the reading that I did and studying info around the net it felt like I already did the timing belt job before I even picked up a tool.
Good Luck with your repairs and don't hesitate to ask any questions as this site has many bright minds that can help out!!
