Hi Everybody!

Just acquired a gently used 2008 Aveo5, 117000 miles and pretty well taken care of. What an adorable little car! It's quick, well mannered on the road (if it's not too windy, lol!), and overall fun to squirt around in. The perfect starter car for my 16 year old daughter.

The first thing I always do with new vehicle is sign on to the forums. There's a wealth of information here, and it's saved me countless hours and lots of money in the past. I'm old enough to remember the world before the internet, wrenched for a living in my early days, and just do it as necessary now, and I've already picked up a few useful tidbits of information here!

Now, it's off to replace the timing belt... 117000 miles and it's never been touched!!! Gotta tend to it before we put any more miles on it. I feel like I'm driving a ticking time bomb, lol! It'll be a good daddy/daughter project.

A timing belt change (and idler/tensioner) are definitely in order. Good luck with that.
