Hello, I have questions for anyone about the clunkiness of my 2010 Aveo.

Hi, I drive 2010 Aveo 5 LT 5 door. I love my little grey car. I used to drive a 1997 Subaru Outback, so the Aveo feels much different, and I know why. My car has 32,000 miles on it, I just put new tires on it in December.
The clunkiness seems to be coming from the tiniest of bumps on the city streets I drive on. I hear the clunking in what I think is the suspension, when the car goes over bumps. I have read about bushings needing replacing, shocks,etc. It sounds like nothing is absorbing the shock of bumps, and almost like the front end is coming down on metal/frame. Any, feedback is greatly appreciated.

aveo has a floating suspension. it wasn't made to be quiet or be comfortable it was made to be cheap and affordable. With that said I clunk around too and consider it normal. Mine was clunking at 13k when I bought it 2 years ago

Nothing in a front (or rear) suspension should clunk. Check the front sway bar links - I've replaced mine twice in 166,000 kms and they are starting to clunk again. Not expensive - and the ride and handling are quieter after install.

end links, and or upper strut mounts are good things to check

Mine does it too. When you slightly turn side to side it likes to do it a lot

My 2011 Aveo 5 LT also makes a groan noises from the suspension on low speeds. Like something needs grease or lube maybe. I havent paid too much attention for now since doesn't bother me. I do noticed this car's suspension doesn't absorb anything. I feel every little bump in the road. I can tell this is a cheap low cost suspension. But overall, i am happy with my car.
