Hello everyone! I've been meaning to join for a few weeks now, and here I am!

My name's Mary, and I just bought a blue 2010 Aveo three weeks ago. It's my first brand new car, so I'm very excited but very nervous about it. I love it already, although I am a bit peeved that my check engine light already came on for the first time the other day. We've had a lot of rain though, so I'm hoping it's somehow related to that.

I'm not sure I'll be adding anything to it or modifying it, so please don't shun me, lol.

Welcome to the site, Mary. Since you bought your car brand new, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just take it to the dealer and the warranty should cover whatever caused it.

hello! welcome.
for the check light, auto zone reads it for free. also if u want dissconnect the battery for idk like 4 hours the hook it back up. try that it may turn off. it did for me.

Just gotta remember that if you disconnect your battery you may need to reset your clock to the correct time and set all of your radio stations again... I know with some aftermarket alarms you may run into an issue of where you'll have to reset some of the settings too, but other than that you should be fine. Autozone is an ok way to go too, but they can't erase your codes because of their policy (but you can using their code reader).

First I'd go to the dealer though being your car is brand new and still under warranty.
