Hey Mary! Welcome to the forums! I'm a non-modder and love my 04 Sedan just the way she is. Shes served me well so far and has 114,000 miles on her to date. I'm on my 3rd set of brakes, 3rd set of tires and my 2nd timing belt. I'm hoping to push her to 200,000 miles. I keep the oil changed every 3000 miles and change the trans fluid every 25000. I know I push it on the trans fluid but shes doing ok, and still shifts like new. Good luck with your Aveo and I love the color you picked!

I take it you got automatic? Manual transmission fluid that comes in the car is synthetic according to the local dealer over here...Originally Posted by NYChevoo

I definitely do have an automatic. I originally wanted a stick but decided that since I live in the suburbs of NYC if I got stuck in traffic it would be a pain in the a@#!Originally Posted by serega12

I hear you on that one. I think stop-and-go is kind of fun though with 5-speed. That's how I learned how to drive manual a number of years back... decided to go from Seattle, WA to Salem, OR on a friday night... I hit traffic in Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and Portland... mastered it in a weekend.

I'm 46 yrs old, and grew up driving my moms 74 Volkswagen Beetle or my dads 1971 Dodge B100 Tradesman Van with 3spd shift on the column. I also have a couple of motorcycles so its nice to have an auto to commute in.

Thank you for the warm welcomes and compliments, everyone! I'm very excited to be here, and I can already see that I'm going to learn a lot! It'll be fun to get to know everyone and their cars!
Oh! And the color is Bright Blue, and I did take it to the dealer to have it checked out. Just a bad 02 sensor, so they got it fixed and I was on my way. Not as bad as I had feared. [My last car (a 92 Escort, lol) blew a head gasket not even a month ago, so warning lights give bring up bad feelings.]
