      Question Hey Everyone

I am new to this thread, I just recently bought a Chevy Aveo 2005, and from the outside not to shabby, but I did notice under the hood that the strut mounts were rusted. Well, not to be a party pooper but does anyone know if this problem can be over looked during vehicle inspections????

honestly that should not be an issue. In NC that would have not been an issue and SC, they just don't give a damn since everybody drives a beat up pickup truck used in Deliverance.

      Welcome to the site.

How bad is the rust? Do you have any pictures? That would really help.

Jack the car up and look up in the wheel well. Check and see if you have rust on that side too. On the top I would take a wire wheel and knock that crap off and paint with a car/anti rust primer. Make sure it's not going through to the outside of the car. Here is an article on rust: How to Fight Rust (and Win!) - Popular Mechanics

You can also take an ice pick and get a feel is has bubble and broken through the integrity of the car by press into the metal there. Yeah I was a little flippant in my my remark above but this would worry me.
