I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
Hey everyone, my name is Jenny and I've been lurking around a while ago at Aveoclub.com when I stumbled upon this website and decided to join up. Well I bought my 2004 Chevrolet Aveo in 2007 with around 9K miles on her and since then I've been slowly been modding the car. I'll add more picture soon.
Exterior Modifications
Limo Tints, 8K HIDs, 17inch black wheels with orange lip(forgot brand), CAI, the rear drums got painted a gunmetal color and caliper soon to be orange which I already bought the stock paint from Chevrolet which I'm waiting on my boyfriend to do it. In the future I'm planning to niteshade the tailights leaving the clear part untouched and also the front parking lights and putting leds in it, maybe do a HID projectors retrofit and blackout the chrome bezel inside the headlights, add fog lights, paint the front Chevy bowtie and rear emblems black, try to find everything for the Kalos front conversion which includes the light, front bumper and grill and well these are my plans for now.
Interior Mods
Blue Dome 32 LED bulb, blue/green neon lights in the driver and passenger footwell, Pioneer deck with bluetooth connection and Pioneer speakers. In the future I'm thinking in replacing the stock bulbs in the cluster for blue leds, paint the thin line by the center bezel the same stock orange color and adding a white led in the trunk.

Here is a picture next to my boyfriend's car.

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
Those wheels with the painted lip look great on that colour Aveo - nice choice! (Was the lip painted to match the car or did they come that way?)
Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the site. You got a nice looking car there.
Personal preference here, but in the above pic I think the tails look great as they blend in with the orange paint. Tinting them would make them stick out and kinda look odd.

Very nice Aveo, sounds like you've got the right idea about what you want to do with it. Welcome.

Thank you and you're right that maybe looks way better to leave it the way it is now but since I got the black rims maybe it would look good as niteshading them but I'll have to do a photoshop to see how it looks.

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
Yeah I've done a lot of research and I have pretty big plan for the car though but everything has to come slow as the money comes though.

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
Very nice car... Are you planning on lowering it? The car will handle a bit better without sacrificing the ride quality much...
And if you're swapping all the outside turn signals/markers to LEDs, you might want to get one of the LED flasher relays from http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/ ... ashers.htm and the number our cars use is CF13GL-02. It says they're for German/European cars, but that's the only one on there that has the corresponding markings on the relay pins. Works well.
Are you planning to go with HID's for the fogs too once you install them? And if you do, are you matching them to 8K or 3K as the fogs should be? :D
And again - nice Aveo.

Thank you, I'm pretty happy with this car because everything is so easy when working on it.

Well as for lowering it I'm undecided because sometimes when I hit a bump or something it aleady touches the wheels but maybe I'll do lower it since its better.
As for the relay do I replace one from the site above with a stock one that will be it right? If for some reason if I have the fogs I might install a 3K HID kit or maybe find a projector small enough to retrofit it like a Mini H3 or so and I'm thinking in changing the 8K to a lower one like 5 or 6K.

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
If you want the most light output and don't care about color go with 4300K. I have purple ones in mine though.

Yes, you take your stock relay out and replace it with the one from the above site. But you only need that if you're going all LED (or partial LED) for your turn signals to keep them flashing at a normal rate.

4300K is the most light output, but looks like regular bulbs, just brighter (that's what all the Caddy's use stock).
5000k is pretty close to daylight, but I personally prefer 6k, it's got very good light output, yet looks cool with just a hint of blue. And 3000k in fogs is actually practical since yellow color cuts the best through the fog/rain...
And wolf, for you it doesn't matter, it snows all year round, so it reflects any color you have  8)

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
Thank you very much, yeah I know about the HID color, I got mine just for looks but I'll be changing them soon because I know that more than 6K its useless which thats what I heard.

Yup. That's why I just changed my 10000k hids to 6000k when I changed the headlsmps... made quite a difference.

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
It is a huge improvement, unfortunately some people choose higher color just for looks and don't care about the light output it has.

Like I said, to each their own... 8) This is a third car I've done with 6000k/3000k combo (CX-7, HHR, and Aveo) and I love both the looks and the light output.

Actually, 8000K-10000K is the best to have up here because the blue pierced the snow and reflects the borders and ridges. It can be dangerous to drive up here when it's blowing snow, because you can't see the lanes on the road or the shoulder or where it ends, do blue works awesome. 3000K yellow is perfect for fog, cuts it pretty well. I just went with purple in my headlights for fun, I love the way it looks.

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
Yet if you order "12000K" bulbs from three different manufacturers (even from the same one but different sets sometimes) you're very likely to get three slightly (or not so slightly) different shades of purple. 8)
All three of my "6000K" bulbs looked a little different. :D

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
Yeah, that's ok, as long as both of mine match I'm ok. 8)

Re: I'm new to the forum, check out the Aveo.
Same here. 8) We should probably take this conversation somewhere else though... :D
