Just got a 2007 Aveo... one week later this -

So this happened today, a week after we got it. 157,000 miles and just put a new battery in it. We drove it to the store, went inside, came back out to white smoke pouring out of it. Looks like an electrical fire that started near the throttle body. Has any one else ever seen something like this?

I can't say it has happened to me, but I did spot one at the scrap yard that had almost identical fire damage. It looked to me like the fire had started from the spark plug wires and spread from there. The car had almost 300K and looked like it still had the factory wires so maybe that is what did it in the case of the one I found.

could have been the drl module that is on a recall cause it can catch fire....could have shorted and then caused the fire in there

Sorry to hear about the car. Its good that it wasn't a problem while you were driving though.
