      Me and My Aveo

      Morning!!
My name is Cecily and I am the proud owner of a 2009 Chevy Aveo, red. Love it, I really wish I didn't since I bought it in November 2012 and it has broken twice, with almost the exact same symptoms. I replaced the coils, spark plugs, and battery thus far. Now my little car is misfiring and has horrible gas mileage...but I really love my little car...why does it keep breaking!!

Do you have any scan codes? We need more details on how it's breaking.

There was a recall on the coil pack and spark plug boots for the 2009 aveo. Sounds like that's your problem

codes are key. the only thing that might not throw a code, what spark plugs did you use? i ONLY use ngk coppers. even though even the recall uses something else, I have yet to get the recall done and change my plugs the recommended 25000 miles.. I ran autolites one time, but I didn't even make it home.

Thanks for all the kind words and support! I ended up taking it to the dealership, I hope it isn't too pricey to fix, they look at it on Monday.

No disrespect to our fine college at Chevy Customer Srvc, but knowing what are the codes sometimes help keep the dealership honest. If you have a smart phone buy this:
      ELM327 V1.5 Interface Bluetooth OBD 2 OBD-II Car Diagnostic Auto Scanner - Rakuten.com Shopping

It's an ODBII adapter to bluetooth. Load up a program on the smart phone that talks "car talk" and it will be able to download and clear the diagnostic codes from your engine. I personally use "Torque" on an android smart phone. That way when you write into the board we can help you faster.
