welcome too the forum man. Your ride looks nice. Nite shade on the taillights would match your blacked out headlights nicely. And good choice imo on 6000K color temp.
hella nice headlights!
love the grill on the 09's.
planning on adding anything else?
What wheels are on it? Can't tell in that first pic... looks like bare steelies. (Winter tires?)
Welcome to the forum.
the car looks nice
ya i really want to smoke the tail lights but i dont know how to do it. and yes just bare steelies on it for now, i dont like hub caps so i took them off. but i dont know if im going to get rims for it because most likely im going to be trading this in on the new aveo. I also put in led bulbs all around and the reverse lights are super nice, pure white.
Watch these two videos.... The best videos out there I've seen so far.Quote:

hey thanks thats a big help. now i may hav to do that this weekend. :D
WELL I SPENT A WHOPPING $30 AND MADE MY OWN SHORT RAM INTAKE. AND TOMORROW IM REPLACING THE TUBING TO THE RIGHT OF THE AIR SENSOR. AND I LEFT THE OTHER PART OF MY INTAKE IN THE WHEEL WELL CUZ I HAV NO JACK AND THOUGHT I COULD JUST PUT THE STOCK AIR BOX BACK ON WHEN I TRADE HER IN. PLUS THE NEW INTAKE SOUNDS VERY NICE..
Nice... So you decided to go with an SRI... personally, I felt more gain when I went from SRI to CAI than when I went from stock to SRI... And it looks like you have big HID ballasts in there too. Why not the slim ones? 8)
well i decided to go with this intake because ive had bad experience with cold air intake on my eclipse. it was way to low and sucked up junk when it rained. so i just decided to play it safe with this car. and no reason for the big ballasts. they were free so i took them.
LOL... you can't beat free. And I got the AEM air bypass valve to help with the water suck-up problem here in Washington state... Hope I'll never have to experience it work...
CAI>SRI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will never own another SRI again lol
the filter location is in a safe spot i think, ill get a bypass valve one of these days anyways
+1 on CAI > SRI
I like the short air intake too, welcome =D> =D>

has anyone actually done this to their car i heard its reaaaal dumb to do it and better off just buying a blacked out tailights or headlights or just actual film tinting it thru a professional than spray painting after watching this video im almost convinced other wise. they actually turned out pretty damn nice.
I always use dupont clear with black tint in it. Night shades etc are just the spraycan version. The results are not "as good" as true automotive paint out of a real spraygun but with the extra steps can look and last just as well.
Of course black tails might be better but only if they are available in the exact style you want. And feel like spending that amount of money. But I personally just smoke mine. Not black then out.
can you tint them yourself with actual like window tint? i heard its also bad becuase of pebbles and rocks can chip the tint film. since its placed on the outside.....
i also heard alot of bad things about short ram intakes. mostly all honda users such as my husband.
but who here thinks it works just as good as fenderwell intakes. (the long tube ones lol)
cold air from the fender well is always better than hot engine compartment air.
switching to a ram air in winter could be an ok exchange, (just take the outer pipe off). but only necessary if you see fueling issues from the overly cold air entering the system.
window tint works ok. but i would use tinted clear bra stuff. its readily available on ebay. and wont chip as easily.
thanks alot. ok so is that why mostly intakes usually come in two pieces (the pipes) so u can change it according to season to avoid to much cold air and summer to get the most cold air possible?
learn new things everyday.
for the aveo its a little more work, but easy to change if needed, i recomend the CAI over any SRI any day, though the SRI will add a little power over the stock intake, so its worth getting at least the SRI, they can be had on ebay for $20 or so
No it just allows you to assemble it easier. If it was one piece you’d have a real hard time fitting them in place.Quote:

It's smaller in diameter too, it's actually designed for our car's engine. But one thing that sucks is that in order to install their air bypass valve you have to cut the 200 pipe to install it. Plus you have to buy 50 dollar valve separately.
or buy the ebay pipe and win :P
ive looked at both pipes first hand and they are the same really, the extra $150 is not needed, and you wont have to cut the pipe for the bypass
The other difference between the two its that the AEM pipe is 2 inches in diameter and doesn't need an adapter from 3 unco to 2 inch at the throttle body like the chromeintakes one does, but even though the chrome intakes is a little big for or needs, like hunter said it is also 150 bucks cheaper, and no cutting is required. Plus I like that the eBay intake sits about 6 inches higher off the ground keeping it further away from water.

LOL... really? Piss on Chevy? With a big bowtie next to it on the hatch? 8) You should look into rebadging it.
well i should be getting my cai in today and i ordered some thermo tec heat tape to put around the pipeing. dont really care how it looks but it should keep the air nice n cool. plus it was only $21
I see a few of you guys don't need the hatch space
well i just picked this up from my buddy for $20 retailed for $200 and its was new in the box. so idk where he got it from. it says it puts out 5 psi but idk about that. just hooked it up and damn it does push some air. so im gonna hook it up to my cold air intake and ill keep ya posted on if it works er not. if it doesnt then o well 20 bucks down the drain.
Let us know if you notice any difference. So far I think there was only one guy who successfully ran one of those, and he ended up burning the wires... From what I remember reading back in the day they don't work that well and are just a waste of money, but I'd like to hear your experience with this.
there are some of these that cost about $1000 that psu hin about 1 PSI of boost, the only way to tell is with a boost gauge lol, or a vacuum gauge, i was tempted to try one to see if it did change anything such as that
there have been some cheap ones like this that have hasd the fans break off and cause a lot of problems lol
well i tried it, my opinion = waste of $20 o well thats a little less beer for me this week
what did you notice, did it boost it at all?
not one bit. just sounded like i had a vacuum cleaner under my hood
did u make a vid of it? or pics installed?
sorry no vid or pics but im thinking of a set of these because the stock ones are most uncomfortable
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-x-Raci ... ccessories
what do you guys think yes er no?
that a nice price for those seat
and they look good too
but look at the last pic, it looks liek there is a hole in the of it
