A young Apprenti from work dropped by last night and brought me some Kicker goodness



10" 2ohm CompVR and a DX500.1 mono amp... Box is 1/2" MDF and is a bandpass design. Just need a wiring kit, and get a Bluetooth head unit for handsfree iphone and ipod, but factory one will have to do for now (not long tho) Seen pics of dashes with a cubby under their head units, spot for the phone n junk.. If i'm gonna be in it two hours a day i might as well enjoy it eh!? But all of this in due time... Timing belt first, $174 at Napa is the cheapest i've found so far, no WP.. online prices are about par with shipping, Napa will have it in tomorrow

put insurance on the new Hot Hatch (lol) today, pulled the plate off Ol Red (sorry Girl).. Pushing her outside and covering her up, gonna clean the garage and make room for a teardown session... Wish i had 4 jackstands, pull all wheels at once and make a list...

Gonna be a fun lil project! It'll be nice now that i have a garage to tinker in... lots of projects on the go right now, 5 RCs to fix, two to finish building, the 462 for Ol Red is almost done, just a few more pieces to get, now a (ahem) Hot Hatch...

stereo install will be fun, pull the seats and do it proper like... Every screw i pull is going back in with Loctite lol been looking for diagrams of stock head units, pretty sure mine has the single CD option, i read u could get a in-dash 6 CD changer haha for a cheap-azz lil car u coulda pimped it right out

Actually kinda lovin this lil car, drives like a gokart lol

Just did my timing belt, found the water pump had been leaking, get to take it all apart again this weekend lol... Only took 2.5 hrs to do the belt, probably gonna be 4 hours to do the wp.. Oh well

feels like it has a bit more power too, perhaps the old one was a tiny bit stretched (retards cam timing)... Found the intake cam wanted to roll CW on me when i took the belt off, took a few attempts to line it all up again... Purrs like a kitten tho

tonight i think i will run some wiring for the new sub and amp
