Hey All,
just bought my 2011 Aveo 5 2LT Automatic used last week with 14,440 miles and am just starting to drive it some. I have some quick questions as a noob to the aveo:
1) It takes longer than I would expect to start, I twist the key and rather than starting on the first twist, it takes 1-2 seconds of running the starter moter before it kicks in. Is this normal? I notice that even if I just quickly turn the key and let go it will continue to run the starter the 2 seconds till it starts rather than stopping trying to start when I let go. Just odd, not sure if its normal.
2) I don't know if its normal for an automatic transmission, but it seems to hesitate a little when I step on the gas. Just a little, but enough to make me wonder. I can kind of control the hesitation by pressing harder on the gas and then letting up as it takes off.
3) Not sure how loud the engine is supposed to sound, but mines pretty noticeable. Especially when taking off from idle, it almost sounds like something is rattling or vibrating in the engine compartment.
4) The rear passenger side door window switch goes up but pressing it down does not lower the window. Bad switch?
5) I'm pretty sure this is still under the factory warranty but the used car place tried to sell me some kind of warranty and told me that the factory warranty was not very good. I didn't buy their other warranty but is this true? If there's something wrong with the hesitation and the rattling sound and getting the window switch fixed, would this be something I just take into a chevy dealer and get it fixed under the warranty? Will it cost me anything?
6) Any good engine mods or tweaks I can get to up the power a little?
Here's a pic with me being a sexy girl model with it:
