Hey everyone, I'm krench7 I'm new here to the aveo forum. I have a M/T 2011 aveo5 LT that is my daily driver. I was looking up the specs for the wheels to see if I could buy a set of 4x100s with tires already instead of keeping the stock steelies and just getting new tires for winter. And I stumbled across this place. Thought everyone seemed nice enough so I signed up.

I wrap cars as a profession. I'm an Avery certified wrap installer. I can you all great prices on any and all vehicle related vinyl products. As well as answer questions and assist all you diy wrappers out there. Or tell you when it's time to call in the pros

I live in the greater Chicagoland area specifically the west burbs.

My my aveo is currently wrapped in matte metallic purple with a black accented hood and hatch. I will post pictures soon. Unfortunately I don't keep a lot (any) of pictures of my aveo on my phone lol.

The black is also a wrap the car is originally blue. but I put the gloss black down first and laid purple over the top in the areas where the two are together.

Well that open my eyes on wrap possibilities. So essentially you took a blue car and changed with a vinyl wrap by covering the WHOLE car. That is impressive. Couple of questions: 1) Is the cost of doing this cheaper than a paint job? 2) How does this hold up compare to a paint job?

It depends on the paint job. Maaco? Probably around the same price. Most wraps can be done starting at or around $1200. When you get into specialty films (chrome or carbon fiber etc.) or super complicated cars/suvs it gets more expensive.

Longevity depends on the wrapper. How much care they put into the wrap job. If they do it right and the wrap is cared for with post application sprays and cleaned regularly, Ive seen them go and look brand new for +\- 7 years. Even if you don't care for it, I've seen them for 3 before they start to become faded and worn looking. The companies say 9 but I've never seen one go that long and still look good. There are some conditions too of course. The longer it's on the more the adhesive bonds to the paint and the more PITA it becomes to get off when your done with it. But adhesive cleans off, it just isn't a fun project. Wraps also protect paint. When I take this wrap off in a year or two the paint is going to look Brand new and won't have a spot of rust on it or any rock chips on the front end.

I'm very passionate about wraps and I think it's a great way to personalize your car and protect it at the same time

Hello friends this is Pradeep Ivon from Delhi, India. I have just joined the forum as i was looking for recent problems i am having with my car with respect to drop in RPM and then stopping anywhere on road when i may be driving at reasonable speed of 60. I have Aveo 1.4 LT petrol 2010 model (photo enclosed)
